
Hydrating & Dry Frying Mushrooms

This video shows how to properly hydrate and dry fry mushrooms.
Steps involved:
- Place dehydrated mushrooms in a bowl and cover with water, wine, bouillon, etc.
- Let mushrooms hydrate for 12 - 30 minutes.
- Cover the frying pan with a small amount of the mushroom hydrating liquid.
- Transfer hydrated mushrooms to frying pan.
- Turn on stove to medium-high heat and begin to boil off the liquid in the mushrooms and in the frying pan.
- Once 90% of the liquid has boiled off turn stove down to medium heat. Add a 1/4" thick piece of butter to the frying pan (quality oil can be used instead of butter if preferred).
- Coat the mushrooms with the melted butter.
- Fry mushrooms on medium heat until golden brown color is achieved.
- Salt and season to taste and enjoy these mushroom delish delights.
